Description
Lucía Conte holds a Ph.D. in Medieval History by Universitat Pompeu Fabra, a Master in History and a degree in Humanities by the same university where she is a lecturer in the Humanities Department and in the Hispanic and European Studies Program, teaching courses on Medieval History, Jewish History of Spain and Jewish Heritage recovery. .
Her research areas of interest focus on Jewish Medieval and Early Modern History in the Crown of Aragon and is a member of the Society for Sephardic Studies and the Association for Jewish Studies. She has conducted research abroad at the Universite de Toulouse-Le Mirail and at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America-Columbia University sponsored by a Consortium for Advanced Studies in Barcelona Fellowship.
Her current research interest is the history of early Hebrew incunabula printed in Sefarad and the diaspora of these books after the Expulsion of the Jews from Spain.
Lucía Conte has also specialized in the design and implementation of cultural and academic field trips and experiential learning tours of Jewish Heritage, for both private and public institutions. In addition to her academic and teaching responsibilities, she is the Director of the Education Abroad Program at Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
