Description
I have been since 2009 associate professor at Central European University in Budapest, where I am now the head of the Center for Religious Studies. I earned my PhD in Jewish Studies at the University of Cologne after having studied in Jerusalem and Paris. In my publications, I explore the social and intellectual interaction of Jews and their non-Jewish environment in medieval and modern Europe. Among my books are the \"Histoire des juifs portugais\", which earned the French Jewish Book Award in 2008; \"The Marrakesh Dialogues: A Gospel Critique and Jewish Apology from the Spanish Renaissance\", published by Brill in 2014; and a commented French edition of Samuel Usque\'s \"Consolation for the Tribulations of Israel\". My forthcoming book \"Farewell to Shulamit\" is a contribution to the study of Hellenistic Jewry focusing on the biblical Song of Solomon.
