Current research areas within the remit of Jewish Studies include Jewish identity in a diasporic setting, with particular focus to a selection of Jews who have resided in Wales.
The Department is also home to British Jewish Contemporary Cultures (BJ:CC). The aim of BJ:CC is to enable the development of meaningful collaborative links between researchers at differing stages of their careers. BJ:CC seeks to locate the study of contemporary British Jewish culture in a more European, global and comparative setting, as well as into imperial, postcolonial and transnational narratives.
