MA Studies of Religion
The Department for the Study of Religion does not offer any academic degrees in Jewish Studies specifically. However, all of their undergraduate students during their first year must complete the equivalent of a 5 ECTS course on Hebrew Bible and Early Judaism. All BA students must choose a founding language for a religion, meaning that some choose Hebrew. In addition, they regularly offer elective BA and MA courses on either Rabbinic Judaism, Modern Judaism, Jewish mysticism or Judaism and Gender, as well as supervising BA and MA papers and theses on Judaism.

Main research activities
The Department of the Study of Religion at Aarhus University is one of the largest research environments in the world in this field, including strong research competences in Norse religion, contemporary religion, Islamic studies, cognition and experimental studies. The environment is interdisciplinary in its organisation and working methods, and the programme's researchers are involved in a wide range of research projects with colleagues from other fields, such as biblical studies and church history within theology, the humanities in general, the social science and the natural science.
There are four main research groups within the department: 1) Religion, Cognition, and Culture (RCC); 2) Contemporary Study of Religion (CSR) (only partly in English); 3) Research Unit for the History of Religion (HOR); 4) Islamic Cultures and Societies Research Unit (ICSRU).
